Disasters of War
The Disasters of War, After Goya, follows in the printmaking tradition of Jacques Callot, Francisco Goya, and Otto Dix. While these artists experienced the disastrous nature of war directly in one way or another, our contemporary war experience is generally through the disconnected and sanitized media channels of newspapers, magazines, television, internet, and mobile devices. In this series, I am re-interpreting Goya’s 80 prints.
