Composites features works, created from 2014-2017, that combine technologies of the 21st century with centuries-old artistic traditions. As a printmaker, López uses big data, averaging algorithms, and 500-year-old printmaking techniques to create compositions that seek beauty in a chaotic world. Using a unique process of digital layering, he compresses historical, mythological, political, and spiritual imagery into abstractions of vibrant colors, patterns, and shapes.
